Tender Description
Welcome to the tender for the Eco Education Course Creation initiative. This is an empowering opportunity aimed at educating and equipping the youth of South Africa, specifically in the Gauteng, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga regions.
The Context
The vast socio-economic disparities within South Africa give rise to a significant education divide. Many young South Africans, particularly from low-income communities, face barriers to accessing quality education and employment opportunities. Confronted with obsolete infrastructure, digital divides, and skewed teacher-to-student ratios, such communities are in dire need of sustainable interventions.
This imbalance extends to our young women, who are often left vulnerable to unemployment and subsequent dependency, increasing the risks of gender-based violence. The closure of educational institutions has further exacerbated these issues, leading to higher risk of unplanned teenage pregnancies and more significant obstacles to personal development.
The Mission
Save the Children’s “Skills to Succeed” programme aims to address these multifaceted challenges. Our focus will be on:
- Enhancing career readiness and resilience among the youth.
- Facilitating connections with burgeoning green job markets.
- Bridging the digital skills gap.
- Catering to the unique needs of migrant boys and girls.
- Mobilizing youthful advocates for social and climate change.
- Promoting gender equality in the workplace.
Structured training sessions will be delivered to participants, encompassing:
- Positive Psychosocial Attitudes (Growth Mindset)
- Eco-Conscious Perspectives (Green Mindset)
- Essential Life Skills for Triumph
