The Khai/Garib Local Municipality is inviting proposals for the Electrification of 80 Households in Langverwag, Kakamas. The project aims to extend electrical infrastructure to provide reliable electricity to 80 households within the Langverwag community, enhancing living conditions and supporting local development.

Scope of Work

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Electrical Infrastructure Development:
    • Installation of new power lines, transformers, and other related infrastructure necessary to connect 80 households to the municipal power grid.
    • Compliance with South African National Standards (SANS) and local electrical codes.
    • Coordination with Eskom and other relevant authorities to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  2. Household Connections:
    • Installation of electrical meters, distribution boards, and internal wiring for each household.
    • Ensuring safe and functional connections, including the provision of necessary training for households on safe electricity usage.
  3. Testing and Commissioning:
    • Conducting thorough testing of the installed infrastructure to ensure reliability and safety.
    • Providing certification of compliance and commissioning the electrified households into operation.
  4. Project Management and Reporting:
    • Regular progress reporting to the municipality, including detailed timelines, budgets, and any challenges encountered.
    • Ensuring the project is completed within the agreed time frame and budget.

Special Conditions

  • Panel Requirement: Only bidders who are on the existing panel of electrical contractors for the Khai/Garib Local Municipality are invited to submit proposals. There are only four contractors on this panel.
  • Bid Submission: All submissions must adhere to the guidelines provided in the RFP document and include all necessary documentation, including proof of qualification and previous relevant experience.
